Diving & Snorkeling

Besides its famous theater, Epidavros is also known for its “sunken city. Part of the ancient city was submerged by rising sea levels. From the beach into the sea you can watch this with a snorkel.
In our village there are two diving organizations where you can participate in a diving course or get certified.

Whether you dive or not, a day trip is open to everyone. The activities offered range from doing nothing and sunbathing on the boat to paddling, snorkeling (swimming with flippers, mask, tuba), jumping from the roof of the boat and let’s not forget the main activity of Epidive , diving . The perfect time to take your first dip in the crystal clear waters of the Saronic Gulf . Towards the uninhabited island of Kyra or the island of Agistry where we can dive on the wreck Aventis 3. The choice of course is made based on the weather and if conditions are not suitable, which is really very rare, the captain of the boat may choose, for reasons of safety and seasickness, to take a day trip along the coast to make and the magnificent creeks of Epidavros to explore.

The village of Archaia Epidavros

In Mycenaean times, Epidavros was a large place with a population of 80,000. Today it is a small fishing village on the Saronic Gulf and east coast of the Peloponnese with about 2,000 inhabitants, who live mainly from agriculture and fishing and in the summer from tourism.

There are several beaches, restaurants, cafes, a post office, ATMs, stores, 4 campsites and many hotels and apartments. Everyone knows everyone, which means you will be quickly assimilated into the village.
There is no mass tourism in Epidavros. In the summer months, Greeks and foreign culture seekers vacation here.
